Why Live in Denver Neighborhood, Highlands?

Denver neighborhood, Highlands, is one of the most desirable places to live in all of the city.  In this video, learn about what makes Highlands special, as experienced by the people who live there.

Highlands is located in NW Denver and is made up of a handful of different neighborhoods; first you’ve got Sunnyside, Berkeley, Lower Highlands which is called Lohi, West Highlands, Sloan’s Lake, and Jefferson Park.

“When we started looking into neighborhoods that we thought might be beneficial with us starting a family, one of the neighborhoods we honed in on was Highlands and thus far we haven’t been disappointed at all. Also, this is a very walkable neighborhood. We have 3 parks all within 2 blocks from us. Each of them is kid friendly and adult friendly – just really, really nice parks that we’ve been able to enjoy with our dog. It’s just a beautiful area, as I said, people are very friendly. I also appreciate the diversity and I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure it was going to be here but when we did find it, we thought it was incredible.”

“I’m actually in the West Highlands area. I’m walking distance from the 44th & Tennyson area which has great restaurants, stores, and coffee shops. Sloan’s Lake is really close too and what’s really great about Sloan’s Lake is that they’ve done a lot of development in the last few years. There’s a great trail that’s a couple of miles around the lake, there’s a beautiful alcove, there’s little boating areas, and it’s super peaceful. Lots of people get down there on the weekends to walk around or picnic.”

“It’s a charming, cozy, cottage feel to the neighborhood and that’s what I like about it. I grew up in that neighborhood which is why it has a connection for me. You can do everything you need to do in a day in the Highlands, absolutely everything you need to do – it’s cool.”

“It’s only ten minutes to downtown Denver. It’s easy access to I-70 so you can get up to the mountains pretty quickly for skiing and get out to the airport in about 25 minutes. Boulder and Golden are also easily accessible so that’s one of the reasons that I like living in Sunnyside, because so many places in the Colorado area are so easy to get to from here.”
